I just have 2 questions. I have a t-mobile mda and tommorow im going to unlock it for my cingular account.
1. Is it difficult to unlock using nokiwiz and a data cable?
2. Will the phone work exactly as it would if it were meant for cingular? IE: Will all the data services work, will I have a strong signal, will all the functions of the phone work...
I would also like to know if I would be able to just go to a t-mobile store and have them unlock it for me... thank you in advanced
1. I am unaware of that unlocking method, If the phone was originally yours, then I would recommend getting it done with T-mobile.
2. Some things might not work, such as MMS. You can try configuring your settings to cingulars, but MMS somtimes has problems. It might be that the cingular server might not recognize your phone. Signal should be normal.
3. If the phone was originally yours, then I don't think there are any problems of unlocking it by them.
I have a t-mobile mda. I unlocked it 3 weeks ago and went back to Cingular. I used an unlock code I found on e-bay for $1.99, then I called T-Mobile and they sent me the password via e-mail. It took 1 week to get the password from T-Mobile. As far as the phone, I do not have the ability to use the Internet and receive e-mails. All other features work fine such aa calls,text messages and use all other programs.
If someone knows to to get the Internet access, please let me know.
Does your MMS work? As far as I know you just need to get the proper settings for the internet. Are you talking about WAP? or Wi-Fi? try this. Let me know if it does it for ya.
I unlocked my sisters MDA and now use it on Cingular. Everything works fine as long as you set it up. go to cingular.com and click support, and phones, than choose cingular as a manufacture, and the 8125. the settings for the internet, mms, text, voicemail, everything is on there.
