Items not being displayed on today screen

Hello,

I just got my new Cingular 8125 yesterday and I've been playing with it non-stop since then. Last night I noticed that it didn't always display my tasks and calendar events on the today screen. One minute it will display that I have 1 task and then I'll go to some other screen and come back and it will just say "No task". Later, that task will show back up. Same thing with calendar events. Right now it is showing me 3 upcoming events. 10 minutes ago it didn't show me anything. An hour from now, they'll probably be gone again.

Possibly related, I've noticed that if I'm on the new text message screen and I hit the Enter button on the "To:" line, it flashes up the contact list (which appears to be empty) and then goes right back to the empty "To:" line. But it I go to the Contacts screen directly, all of my contacts are there and happy and I can select one and say "Send Text Message" and it brings me to the new text message screen with the "To:" field filled in, just like it should.

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Heath

A little more info...
All of the sudden, my call history was gone. When I clicked it, I just got the scrollbar on the right and no data being display. Scrolling the scrollbar made the phone dialing buttons more in a goofy way. I made a call and all of the sudden I can see my call history now, but it is missing one missed call that I saw come in and chose not to answer.

Something is going on. I haven't had it long enough to have this many problems. Not having warm fuzzies any more.

Are you using any other apps to display your tasks and such on the Today Screen? If nothing has been installed and everything is out of the box, I would first try a hard reset and if things don't shape up I would contact support... might be faulty.

Thanks for the reply. Nope. No special apps. Everything straight out of the box.

I think I may have figured it out though. I looked at the running task list and there was about 8 things there that I thought had been closed out. Stopped them all and things worked better. At least I hope they are. Haven't seen an inconsistancy since then. I had checked it before while the problem was occurring and it said I had 11Mb Program memory free, so I didn't think it was the problem. When I stop them all, I still only have 16 or 17 Mb free, but it seems to be happier. I have been checking the list regularly this afternoon and there always seems to be 3 or 4 (calendar, etc) that I am out of as far as I know. So, I must be doing something wrong when I go from app to app. Or is it normal to have to check your memory so often? Some sort of "low memory" warning would have been cool if that really was the problem. I read a few posts about a memory tool that seems to be a must have. Guess I'll look into that.

Thanks again,
Heath
