ActiveSync 4.2.0 - Network drive

Hello, I recently moved from a Treo 650 (PalmOS) to a Cingular 8125 with Windows Mobile. With the move I now use ActiveSync 4.2.0 (build 4876). So far it's performed all tasks correctly except one, which I was able to do with my Treo.

I have a spreadsheet on a network drive, T:, which I sync to my handheld so I can have it available at each client site for daily updates. When I come back to the office and sync it back to my system it sync's to a local copy of the file, not the network version of it.

Apparently when I selected the network file to be sync'd it made a local copy to C:\Documents and Settings\....\WM_user My Documents.

Please tell me there is a way around this as another person in my office later needs to modify the same, but updated spreadsheet on the network.

Thanks

M

Welcome to Pocket PC Addict censu67! I understand your problem but I can't seem to find a way around it... except for you to replace the file on the network drive with the newly synched file on your PC, but obviously that's one step you don't want to have to do everytime. There has to be a way... is there anyone else out there who has experienced this?

Try updating to WM6 as this allows access to windows sharepoint services and this should hopefully allow you to update over-the-air. If you have an unlimited Data plan then itry to setup a VPN and you will be able to access the shared drive from your PPC .

Look for an app called MobSync, which gives much greater folder locaion flexibility in the sync process.
