So I purchased 2 of these phones for business use. Nothing but trouble ever since. Instead of me ranting and raving about this, I'll just get to the point.
Issue is with email. I have a bellsouth email address setup through accounts. Some days it sends, and receives, some days it receives and doesnt send, mostly receives and will not send. Error messages range from "System Administrator" "Invalid Message receipiants"(sent to my personal email), "Messages cannot be downloaded to your device, check network coverage" yada yada, pretty much every message error possible. I have been on the phone with Cingular for countless hours, changing settings. Sometimes it works then a couple days later wont, I havent even changed any settings. Been to the store numerous times, data guy as they call him is suppose to be coming in to check out my two phones. Anyone else having trouble with email and the 8125. Am I the only one? And no one knows what the problem is? HTC puts out a phone with Cingular before one of them isnt ready? Ive swapped phones, new SIM cards.
Pretty much so far Cingular has brought me to the conclusion that the phone wont work for me, but everyone else it does? WTF? See, now I'm getting pissed so I must stop.
I had the same problem with my 8125... I wanted to through it away. Words can't explain how angry I was with Cingular, nobody could figure out the problem. I final was able to get it to work now, with the help of a excellent tech at cingular. He walked me through the process I'll do my best to explain... Go to the connections page or tap the E at the top of your screen... tap connections...manage existing connections...make sure the cingular GPRS wap.cingular setting is selected...tap proxy edit...then make sure that the box "this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet" setting is NOT selected. The tech told me this is a goof on thier side, simply used for them to assist you in buying ringtones another crap! If you are using your phone for emails you will not need this setting turned on. Good Luck!
morrow- my phone settings are so screwed up, I tried what you stated in your post above, but it didnt work. How do I get in touch with this specific tech. I have been on the phone with their data support for hours with no success.
