I just bought a cingular 8125 and having problems with synchronizing contacts - for some reason this is greyed out (notes, filesm appts, are also greyed out).
I have reinstalled active sync, tried v 4.1 and 4.2, hardware reset, rebooted the PC, etc. but no luck.
how do you set up a profile in Outlook? I am having the same problem. Calendar, Notes, etc. DO sync, but Contacts don't. Probably for most people, as for me, the Contacts are the most important part!
For setting up your profile in Outlook just open up the program, if you haven't already set a profile then it should prompt you to... follow the instructions through.
Greetings, I've had my 8125 for a month now and really like it. I do have a question regarding contacts. I have 2 address books in my Outlook that I can use on the PC, however Active Sync will only transfer the contacts from 1 of the books. How can I get all my contacts on the phone without having to combine the address books on the PC first? I have work contacts and personal contacts. Then I also need to be able to use distribution lists. Outlook on the PC has the lists but I can't find them on the phone.
Hi, Tgerber... I have a combined list on my phone AND the computer, and I separate friends, family, work, volunteer and overseas contacts with the "Classification" tab. I know this works a whole lot better in the Palm Desktop and on Palm devices, but as a philosopher said before he died:
"we poor mortals who use Windows must accept the wisdom of Microsoft in all things... " (can somebody tell me which is the icon for "puking" ???)LOL
Honestly, I haven't found a way to work this out in the simple manner that Palm did, so I think you'll have to bite the bullet and combine the address books....
