I'm new to the forum and looking for help to fix my O2 xda mini. I love my O2 xda mini when it works properly but it's not always the case. Firstly, I found that the O2 xda mini has poor receiption. The places where I normally get very good receiption (ie 4 bars) on my Motorola Raza, I would get no receiption on my O2 xda mini. How would I be able to improve the receiption? Secondly, my O2 xda mini soft-resets itself very often!! How could I fix the soft-reset problem?

Much appreciate your help in advance!!
Hey cwny888, if your O2 isn't getting much reception anywhere, then you may have to consider other network options or a different device entirely, otherwise, if you're looking for a solution for a specific area, for example your home, then you might want to look into a cell phone repeater.

Thanks Jane for your prompt reply. I will look into getting a cell phone repeater. Any ideas about the O2 soft-resetting itself? Would upgrading the windows mobile 2003 - 2nd edition help?

Thanks again for your help!!
cwny888!
I believe XDA Mini is already have the WM 2003SE if that's what you want to know. But if your having problem about your device you might consider ugrading the ROM, you can try to visit O2 - Home and get the latest one. Warning: As always before doing any ROM upgrade please do backup your data...
Good luck...

thanks for the tips. yeah, my o2 has wm03se on it. is there an upgrade for the wm03se? i couldn't find any upgrade from O2 home (ie O2.com). if i upgrade the rom, do you think it would fix the problems? the main problems are frequent self soft-resetting and poor receiption.
The answer is yes, ROM upgrade is release to address the issues on the old ROM, you might want to try it out and check if your problem was address, if not well it might be a hardware problem already.
Good luck...

Could someone let me know what is a cell phone repeater
I've always had poor reception in my house no matter which network/mobile I've used.
As you move further away from your service provider's cell phone tower the less reception you receive. So a cell phone repeater is great because it amplifies coverage/signal strength. I found this site that has information on this topic. Hope this helps!
