I don't know why I didn't see this earlier, but if you are an O2 XDA mini, dopod 818, i-mate JAM or HTC Magician user, you probably know that your Pocket PC doesn't support MP3 ringtones by default. Fortunately there is someone out there that understands your pain and has brought this fix to life. MP3 Ringtone Patch by Bong's Work Shop allows you to select any MP3 in File Explorer as a ringtone simply by tapping and holding or "right clicking" and selecting "Set as Ringtone." It's a simple fix and works flawlessly. Download it here today!
Yeah, I've downloaded and installed this "fix" for my spv M600 (i-mate JAM?). I now need to do a soft reset apparently. How?
Is this the same as switching it off and on again, because that didn't work.
I would go and read the (F'n) manual, if I could find it
Welcome to Pocket PC Addict Master_Ed! Try sticking your stylus in the little hole at the bottom of your SPV M600. That should do the trick. Let me know how it turns out...
downloaded the cab file ,reset my imate jam,but when i go to file explorer to click on a mp3 there is no set as a ringtone available.
Welcome to Pocket PC Addict lovejoy!
This might be a stupid question but are you fully "right clicking" the file instead of tapping it once? Try tapping and holding to see if a menu comes up. If you still can't see it, let me know.
O2 XDA mini, dopod 818, i-mate Jam are all phone models... O2, dopod, i-mate are different companies. Sorry to say this but I don't believe it will work on your Hitachi G1000.
Hi nikqd, welcome to the forum. I don't think it will work with your phone, but you are free to try~ the O2 XDA mini / dopod 818 / i-mate JAM are all the same phones just put out from different companies
awesome!! works like a charm!! i moved from a SE k750i to this phone n was reeeealy dissapointed that it didn;t have mp3 ringtone support!! now it rocks!!
Hi all, nice site!
I have installed the patch and it comes up fine in my explorer menu however all my mp3s are unknown by my little Vario. In media player when it searches for music it finds my mp3s no problem and plays them. Is there any way I can change file association through my device?
