Hi aytach;
Great pocket pc you got there, updating or upgrading your ROM is a good thing to do because this might fix some of the problems and there maybe some added features or security patches that your device needs.
Doing this task is really a simple, while downloading the ROM Update i suggest read the Instructions or Documents that is posted before you you are brought to the download site.
There are some important things that you should do before doing ROM upgrade:
Remember that when you do this all your data and installed applications will be erased that is why its always good to Backup your DATA. If you have any important data in your PDA (you are likely to have), save them elsewhere. Now, this is important: we can distinguish between four types of user data - system settings, installed applications, PIM (mail, calendar, contacts), and data files, such as documents, multimedia etc. I strongly recommend backing up data files by simply copying them to a memory card or desktop computer, and PIM data by synchronising with a desktop version of Outlook. You can use Sprite Backup for this job.
Make sure your pocket pc have full Charge battery.
Now The Upgrade Procedure After you finish downloading the ROM Excecutable. Click on it to run the Application.
The procedure is not identical for all devices and manufacturers have different installation utilities but the principle is always the same. In general, I see three basic rules to observe:
Follow the instructions word for word
Wait and be patient, be patient.... (You may choose to stare at that status bar to reach 100% or you can cen some sandwich and juice and enjoy.)
When you see your device Reboot and started showing that Splash Screen that means your done. Congrats...You can now start re-confiure it again.
Now if you want more information and detailed instructions try to look at it at PDAGold they have good instructions on how to do it.
I hope i did help... Good luck...
Murduck
