Cingular 8125 email

Hey guys, after fumbling thru the email account setup, and finally being successful, I find that I have multiple messaging account names all pointing to the same Pop3 server...so I am getting multiple copies of the same email...how do I delete the accounts that I do not need? One of those buggers is not setup properly and is deleting messages from the server when it syncs wirelessly.
thanks

How to delete mail accounts on Windows Mobile 5.0

Welcome to Pocket PC Addict mmpjim. Deleting mail accounts is easy. This is what you do:
  1. Go to Start>Messaging>Menu>Tools>Options
  2. Tap and hold on the accounts that you wish to delete, then tap delete!
It's that easy! Try it out and let us know what you find!

jim:

The Outlook Email and Hotmail accounts in question are there by default and cannot be deleted... if you don't want your desktop e-mail to sync then you can disable it in ActiveSync.

Is there a way to remove the icon for Hotmail on the main face of the pocket pc 8125? Just don't want to see it.

I'm not sure why Hotmail is on there at all (I have the same device) unless Cingular/AT&T is putting it in the ROM now. That said, when you say "main face" I assume you are talking about the Today Screen? If so Settings/Today/Items tab controls what you see.

I was trying to resolve a similar issue earlier this evening but have come across 2 things.

I have 2 email setups, Outlook and my Gmail (which was created when I setup Cingular Xpress Mail), but neither show up as accounts.

Ideally, I'd like to have Outlook on the phone be the only one and it be my Gmail account. (I use Outlook to access Gmail on my PC, and would like the whole synch thing to work so I'm not getting duplicates on my phone.)

So I guess the question is, how do I get rid of the gmail setup via Xpress Mail, then make Xpress Mail access my Gmail account and apply it to the Outlook folder in messaging so that the thing is actually synched with my PC.

Thanks
