I do have atom but the buttons are not functioning don't know what are the causes of this problem. Probably hardware problem, now i need to hard reset my O2 Atom and get back to factory default, how can I do that without pressing the red and green button? do you have any tricks how to do that... thanks...
Have the same problem. Initially I installed 1 Pass , I set 5 digit password. After finished, the phone restarted, and asked for password which was only 4 digit(nowhere to input the 5th digit). After I have tried several attempts, it went off automatically and i even couln't turn it on. Please someone help me.. really urgent. Thanks

Update"" somehow i managed to turn it on and now it still asks for password while active sync could be passed through easily when it asks for password(5 digit entry is available to be inputted in my pc) however the password prompt on my atom wouldn't disappear. I have tried to uninstall 1pass using add/remove programs in tools. It didn't work as well(active sync just hang). Is there any way except hard resetting? Big thanks

how to cold boot the Nortech Navigator E-GPS010

Hello I was wondering if you know how to cold boot the Nortech Navigator E-GPS010. I found a way of getting Windows CE, that was hidden on it, to run. But everytime it boots it hangs at the desktop. It would be great if you knew how to cold boot it. It only has two buttons on it, the reset button and the power button. I have tried alot of combonations. But maybe you could find the right one that I have missed. I appreciate it.

I'm new to PPC's and I just purchased an 8125 off ebay. From the way i'm reading this thread it seems to me like a hard reset restores everything back to how it comes from the box. Is this true? My main thing is that since this was purchased off ebay i'm a little paranoid of keyloggers and that sort. If I do a hard reset will this get rid of anything like that if there is something on it? And also if I reset it will I still be able to pop in my SIM and go?

Hi all I have an ipaq 5550 like the one at the top of page 1, it has completely died on me, won't charge, turn on, or anything, tried soft reset with it off tried hard reset, plugged it in, unplugged it, done everything except throw it against the wall! any clues how to get it back from the dead?
I wonder if I plugged the power lead in the wrong way, very easy to do! and it blew up inside?
Help pllease and thanks in advance......Bob

I'm newbie to PPC too, I use HP product, this is step for HP reset:

Press and hold Application Buttons 1 (Calendar) and 4 (iTask) on the front of the unit and, at the same time, use the stylus to press the Reset button on the back of your iPAQ Pocket PC.

Bob

Try removing the main battery and then reinserting it. Make sure it seats back in firmly and the battery lock is fully in place to insure good connections.

Smile Cold Boot for HP IPAQ 4350/4355

That is;
While holding down the power button press in on the reset button (reset hole) with your stylus (located on the left hand edge of the unit rather than the bottom) for about 5 seconds.

Same as HP IPAQ h1900 instructions

Hey DJKAYZ,

It's quite tricky cos you're doing three things at once, but....

Turn the device off.

Press and holle the CAMERA and comms mgr buttons - AND, at the same time (using your third hand!) use the stylus to press the reset button at the bottom of the device. Keep holing the Camera and comms mgr buttons until the message: "Press send to resotre factory default or prest other key to quit" appears.

Hope this helps.

I have been told with Windows Mobile 5.0 you will need to do hard restarts periodically. You will notice it is time to do this when you can no longer go online, or send emails.

The frequency of this depends on the number of calls you make.

Well since its running Windows Mobile you should be able to go into settings> system> clear storage and this will perform a hard reset please be advised that you will lose all data and it will revert back to a shipped condition.

I'm sry but the only reason you will ever need to perform a hardreset is if you corupt your rom, install some bad software, get a virus, or want to erase all data before you ship it out or sell it.

Now you do need to perform a softreset often, I suggest doing a softreset everyday atleast once, a softreset is like restarting your computer.

Resetting a Password Protected iPAQ 2410 with Mobile 5

I've tried the instructions you provided for resetting this device but the password protection is very durable. Any more advice for a dip-sh*t that can't remember his password? A total loss of all data is acceptable at this point.
