If you like the Pixies....

I was sitting here with the headphones on, enjoying a new CD in my colloection and I thought I'd let you know about it. If you like the music of Frank Black and the Pixies you might want to check out the New Pornographers. Yeah, they have a weird name, but they don't have pornographic lyrics.
I first saw them on David Letterman a few years ago, and thought, Wow! they really rock. I picked up their CD "New Electric" thinking, aside from that one song, the rest of the album probably sucks. I was wrong about that. I ended up liking just about every single song. This album is taking a bit longer to grow on me, but I like at least 5 songs on it so far.
Another thing about this band is just when you think a song is really terrible, keep listening, they have quite a few that turn a corner and change the melody and you end up loving the 2nd half. 8-)
Anybody else heard of this band? Or am I the only one?
