Ipaq 36xx Stylus Catch Broken Free Fix.
Just drill a 1.6mm through hole next to the inset and insert a slightly protuding rubber core (band). For info.
The inset is 8mm down from the top. Drill from the flat side in the centre. The stylus is easily drilled (filled nylon with an aluminum core). The hole size is not critical but shouldn't weaken the stylus (1.6mm or 1/16th inch drill is fine). The best rubber core is a square section rubber band. Just push in and leave rubber proud 1mm each side.
The stylus pushes in against the existing spring, compresses the new rubber catch and stands 6mm proud until used.
Saves the nuisance and cost of sending for a catch replacement and a screwdriver for those stupid screws that Compaq thinks will stop us fixing their poor design.
