How do you carry your PPC? Or do you?

All:
A few threads recently have gotten me to think about carrying the PPC, and how others do it.
I keep mine usually in my back pocket, pretty much nude except for a PPCTechs protector on the screen. I don't find this very practical b/c it's a pain to pull in and out whenever I want to sit down.
Not sure I want to go the full out geekwear route either with the external marsupian accessory.
So what are other guys/gals doing?

I have an iPaq 1945, which I carry without any kind of protection, in my front pocket, with the screen facing my thigh (to protect against accidentally bumping against anything -- my brother broke the screen on his Jornada 568, even through the plastic cover, by having the screen facing out!). I don't like to be encumbered at all by bulk, which is why I chose this route (I thought briefly about a screen protector, but decided that considering this is a cheap ppc coupled with the fact that I like seeing the naked screen, that it wasn't worth it).

Like wbuch, I am a front pocket (left side) guy. But I do use a screen protector. The cases seem to add too much bulk for my tastes. And I don't want to add another belt clip to my belt. So no case, front pocket and the screen facing inward to prevent table corner damage

Front pocket's tough though with jeans. Luckily I don't have to wear slacks to the office, and my jeans are not exactly roomy in the front due in part to my uber-muscular thighs, but mostly my rubber band.

I have nobody to impress and frankly don't care about geeky image. (I am what I am) I use a Krusell case clipped to a front pocket corneras it's more comfortable than a belt.

on slacks or jeans? Every time I clip my phone as you describe, it ends up flying across the room eventually. But I wear slacks. I guess jeans might make a difference?

I got one for ya:
I had an accident six weeks ago, and am still locked into a very long leg brace, which goes from my ankle to my hip with a hinge at the knee, and am forced to use crutches, which makes it very difficult to carry ANYTHING!
So, in looking thru my various cases (I'm a freak and have tons of cases and bags...I just can't help myself!) I selected a medium size camera bag and using zip ties thru the adjustment holes in the crutch, attached the bag to one of the crutches. Now, I can keep my trusty PPC with me with no problem!
I do keep my pda in a case tho...I switch between the Frama leather case (most of the time) and an Innopocket aluminum case. (If there is any likelyhood that it will get banged around, or if I am likely to put it in my pocket.)

JD,
I hope your recovery time is short. But I am glad you can now carry your PPC

My conscience wouldn't let me do this. I had to buy an iPod for excercise. I felt that since my PPC holds my development environment, it wasn't smart to excercize with it.
But, I would think a belt clip would be a necessity. Your Magnum case is probably a good way to go.

Brad,
After six weeks in this thing, NOTHING seems fast! I'll find out next week how much and what type of surgery they are going to want to do, so I'm thinking there is at least another month or 2 of this. ICK!
But, you're right, at least with my PPC, I can entertain myself!

I use an IPAQ rx3715 and carry it in a black leather case which was first purchased for my first pda, a Palm m100. It fits perfectly, is easy to get in and out of there plus I can slip it into my pants pockets if need be when working with particularly problematic students. It does add a little bulk but I'd rather a little bulk that damage $500 worth of equipment. The case was made by Xigma but I have never seen another product made by this firm and I bought it some 8 years ago.

I have been an addict since a "pocket" device first came out. I don't know if it is the term pocket or what that has made me plan where I was going to carry my newest device. When I was so excited about the then new SHARP Handheld in color unit, I would actually carry it in my dress shirt pocket and half of it stuck becuase it was so big. Looked really good with a tie. But boy I could whip that baby out and work my majic. I even got to where I could actually type fast on the small keyboard. Fast foward to the present. I use a case, usually Vaja and carry in my front pant pocket no matter if jeans or dress. The jeans actually have an outline in them from the case. At work I wear a shirt that allow me to carry the case in my pocket. A month ago I actually made the switch to a PPC/Phone combo and use a regular hip clip holster. Miss my big 4" VGA toshiba screen, but it has cut down on have a phone and device plus a little more room to wiggle in the pants. It seem that no matter what how I carried it or how big the device was, I got used to it. Having it with me always out weighed its comfort or how silly I looked packing it.

I carry my Dell X50v either in my front left pants pocket or my shirt pocket, usually screen facing my body on both. The Axim fits fine and disappears in both places. I haven't invested in a fancy case for it and simply carry it in its Dell slipcase. I have a Boxwave Crystal screen protector on it, which is months old but still looks new.

I have a Samsung i730 that I carry in my right front pants pocket, with the screen facing my leg. I do have a Boxwave screen protector on it.
