Arrest me ... before I strike again

Jonathan Turley writes an eye opening commentary about a Victim of identity theft.. . himself!
For the past month, a detective has been trying to arrest me in New York. Most people in such a position would be highly distressed, but I am frankly delighted. Perhaps an arrest will bring an end to a criminal life that began for me in December, when I started buying luxury cars for friends in the Bronx.

Exposed Social Security Number

Here's another one. You'd think they know better but obviously don't care. When I renewed my insurance recently, the agent showed me a list of people and wanted me to state that none of the people who were on the list were going to be driving my car. The list had names, addresses, phone numbers and Social Security numbers. Everything you'd need to steal someone's identity. This document was left laying on the desk for several minutes with many people milling around. It would have been easy for someone to get just one name from the list and maybe even more.
It's sad. No one seems to be taking this seriously. Next time the video rental clerk asks for your social number, refuse. If we do it a little at a time, maybe they'll get a clue.
