Configuring Windows XP and Activesync to Work Together

Ok, I admit it, I've gone back on my word...sort of. I said that I wasn't going to install XP Service Pack 2 until they got the kinks worked out. Well, I was bored one evening, so I did it anyway. :P I must say, though, it was not as traumatic as I thought it could be. In fact, it went by with nary a snag at all. And it comes with a nifty firewall for free! So, what can i say. I am glad I did it.
Perhaps you are one of those who has installed it, but are having trouble getting Activesync to play nice with it? If so, Chris De Herra has written an article on how to configure Windows XP SP2 and Activesync so they will work together.
" The following explains how to configure Windows XP, Service Pack 2's firewall to work with Microsoft ActiveSync. Also, included is the ability to change the configuration to control what hosts ActiveSync is able to communicate with for additional security. I tested Windows XP, Service Pack 2's Firewall with Microsoft ActiveSync v3.7.1, Microsoft Outlook 2002, and a HP iPAQ 6315 Windows Mobile 2003. This information should work with all versions of ActiveSync and all Mobile Devices including the Smartphone and Handheld PC. "
How have YOU fared with the SP2 upgrade? Is it working for you?

I have to admit I've been using SP2 since RC2. I started on the Sony to get the much improved hand writing recognition and it was so solid I soon installed it on my main laptop. I haven't had any problems and even ActiveSync has seemed much more reliable.

I downloaded the iso as soon as it was released, put it on my 3 systems at home, 2 at work and several for customers. Not a problem on any of them! I don't think I'm especially lucky, but everything has been going good with it.
