Thanks to a forum post over at PDACorps, we learn that OmegaOne and PocketGear have started up a contest where if you purchase Omega One's Battery Pack Pro for $19.99 you will be entered to win an iPAQ rx1715. The rules seem sort of weird though... "From today until PocketGear.com records the 100,000th download of Battery Pack Pro the email addresses of those people who buy Battery Pack Pro from PocketGear.com will be recorded. When the 100,000th copy is download, a name will be drawn from that list of Battery Pack Pro owners, and that person will receive a new iPAQ rx1715. "
Does that mean everyone who owns Battery Pack Pro in the world is entered to win? Or just the people who download between now and 100,000? Regardless, you can read the contest rules here
First Omega One lost a lot of customers by changing their "free updates for life" by creating a "Pro" version of their Battery Pack program that gets all future development and doesn't get free upgrades. Now it seems they are trying to win some of those lost customers back by giving away the only new iPaq that has been thoroughly trashed in the first major review.
