How do I get programs to close when I press the close button? I'm trying a program called spb pocket plus, but it doesn't seem to be working right in that area. (Alot of other nice features I might get it for anyways though) If anyone knows how to kill programs when I click the close button, or knows what I'm doing wrong with spb, please let me know!
Thanks.
There are a lot of third party programs out there called task switchers or task managers. I use a skin replacement / task manager called WisBar. I have also used a simple task manager from Tillanosoft called SmallMenu.
There are many advantages to these programs (not the least of which is they are freeware) but one of the most used is the "smart close" feature. Basically it works like this. Once you've installed WisBar and have it running with the skin of your choice and with "smart close" or "smart minimize" (I can't remember which it is called right now) enabled, when you click on the "X" button it will minimize the app just like the PocketPC OS does. But if you hold down the "X" button for a whole second it will actually close the program.
The learning curve to getting WisBar and other similar skinning programs installed and running is actually pretty low. Here's a link to learn more about the program and download it. SmallMenu also has a registered version that offers more options.
Good luck
Yep, there are plenty of nice taskbar tools that will offer a true "close" button.
If you would like a little bit more for your device than just that, stop by my site and check out what is possible with PPX. Keep in mind that PPX costs $10 (a free demo version is available), but I think that it is worth every penny.
Hi PockyBum522 and welcome.
Pocket Plus does do this. However you may have to play with the settings a bit to get it tho work right for you.
Go to start>settings>system tab and choose Pocket Plus. From there you can adjust your 'close button' behavior.
