Wanna know what three apps ZDNET considers the "Top Picks" for Pocket PCs? No? Well, me either! So I am just posting a link to their article for the sake of posterity. Take a look and let me know what you think. Seems they forgot a few. What about a Super PIM like Agenda Fusion or Pocket Informant? How about WMP or Pocket Music? What? No mention of Achieve-IT!?! They've gone too far this time! Or Not far enough...
What are YOUR "Top Picks"?
Brad! I followed that link. And I ask you, "Could that 'article' be any lamer?" Three paragraphs long. Three Pocket PC apps mentioned that don't relate to each other except in that they are all Pocket PC apps. Of the three mentioned as 'top apps' one was... ActiveSync.
I could feel myself getting dumber reading that piece. The picture was worth the price of admission though. Think I'll blow it up in Photoshop and make it into a Halloween mask... gosh that's creepy. I have made it into my desktop for this week and it's wigging the lil' woman out.
In closing, I want those three minutes of my life back, Brad!
That was a freaky picture of that "author". Here's my post on the site about that article...
"Lame Article
I have to tell you that this article gives so little insight to the "Top Picks" of Pocket PCs that its astounding.
I'd just like to ask the author something...
Do you even own a Pocket PC?
If you do, Do you even use it?
Come on. Don't even put anything out if its going to be this lame."

Despite the previous 'glowing' recommendations, I couldn't resist - I viewed the article.
Thankfully, I have a dull stick next to my desk for occasions just like these.... <poking eye out with dull stick>
I agree with kawkmankt - LAME!
On to my favorite, non-Microsoft/included apps:
Pocket Diet Tracker
Pocket Informant
Links
Scrabble
Monopoly
Achieve-IT!
Battery Bar
that is a lame article ... worse I have ever seen:
My favorites
PI
Achieve - IT
Money
TimeTTracker Mx
My Sport Training
List Pro
Terminal Services
Those are the ones I use every day.
I would recommend that guy to do his home work before he write anything.
If ActiveSync is good then I don't know what the word GOOD means in English or may be I'm just having some problems translating that word to Spanish. :P
The following takes place 2 years from now between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM at the ZD headquarters in San Francisco:
Boss (speakerphone): Hey Hantra, you got that article you were supposed to write? You know midnight was the deadline.
Me: Yessir, it's right here. I was waiting for images to come back from graphics, but it's on the way. I'll bring it right down!
Boss: Bring me some coffee too, you slack bastard!
Me: Cream, sugar?
Phone: CLICK!
Me (to myself): OMG, I have to write something FAST!
- 5 minutes later in the bosses office -
Me: Sir here's your coffee. Be careful, it's hot.
Boss: Lemme see what you got there.
Me: Here you go!
Boss (reading out loud): Top 3 apps for Microsoft Windows XP.
blahblahblah. . blahblah. . blahblah. .
1. Calculator - I like Calculator because it is an invaluable tool. Kudos to Microsoft for including Calculator in Windows XP. I could not live without it, and the latest version is better than the Windows 2000 version! Highly recommended!
2. Notepad - Ladies, and gentlemen, you are going to LOVE this version of the ever-popular Notepad. You would not BELIEVE some of the great features on here like Word-Wrap! File>Save As! I mean. . COME ON! Who knew they would put a FULL FEATURED word processor in Windows! Hah! They are shooting MS Word in the foot this time. Those are some benevolent guys at MS.
3. Control Panel - Yes. . Finally guys, the moment arrives! We have saved the best app for last! This might very well be the BEST APP EVAR! Not for the faint of heart, this feature-rich application features amazing, high-color icons like. . a speaker! a netowrk card! and it even has its own CALANDAR!!!!!! OMG!!! W00t!!!!
In short, these l337 apps will make your life easier as you journey on the road to SUCCASS!
Me: So what do you think boss?
Boss: I think it's BRILLIANT! Get this down to the web developers NOW! We need to post this before C-NET gets ahold of it!!!!
I could feel myself getting dumber reading that piece. The picture was worth the price of admission though. Think I'll blow it up in Photoshop and make it into a Halloween mask... gosh that's creepy. I have made it into my desktop for this week and it's wigging the lil' woman out.

LOL!!! That's the funniest thing Ive read in a long time. 'I could feel myself getting dumber' classic!
I want my 3 minutes back too!
Pocket DivX Player, at number two, gets mixed reviews as a handheld movie player, but the concept is great. With a little tweaking, I was able to get this app to play DivX files, but I think it still needs some work. Fortunately, it's free. (Free/Pocket PC)
Pocket Divx player sucks. couldnt he at least list pocketmvp? that one works at least
See, and I thought I was pretty funny posting a slam on their website...
Hantra,
That was awesome. I absolutely loved it and it was much more rewarding than the crap I read this morning.

Thank you... that was f'ing great! "The road to succass..." heh. I'm going to use that typo in one of my project evaluation reports this month.

When I first read this, I thought you were talking about the article itself. LOL! The article would indeed make a scary Halloween mask. Sort of like "Kids: do drugs and drink and this type of work you'll produce"
Man, I set this as my wallpaper in "tile" mode and its freaking me out also.
