Now this is COOL! 8) An article in the Courier Post is detailing that the Burlington County Library is allowing patrons to download eBooks and will soon allow patrons to sign out PDAs! 8)
Would you use this service if it was available in your neighborhood? The Burlington County Library System is offering a new service that allows patrons to check out books without ever leaving home.
Patrons can download their choice of e-books - or electronic books - onto their personal computer or personal digital assistants by accessing the library's Web site, www.bcls.lib.nj.us
Anyone with a valid library card can check out an e-book for 14 days after downloading special reader software. And there are never any overdue charges because the e-book automatically returns itself when it's due.
Within the next two weeks, the library will also start allowing patrons to sign out personal digital assistants, or PDAs.

I would definately take advantage of this if my local library did it. I love reading ebooks, and I cannot tell you the last time I actually got up and drove to a library. I'd rather just go to the bookstore and buy a book than mess with parking, and the dewey decimal system. So I would be one of the people that would benefit from this type of setup.
Yeah, itīs a good idea, but... right now they are talking about acrobat reader v6.0 and I believe that is the version for PCs. According to them once you the 14 days have passed you wont be able to read the ebook any more, but what they are explaining apply to version 6. I donīt think that the version 1.0 for Pocket PC works in that way so I think that those ebooks will last for ever in your PPC readable. http://ebooks.bcls.lib.nj.us/442E21C...-Borrowing.htm
Could anyone prove that Iīm wrong?
