This may be old to some of you, but I was just reading a few articles over at ZDNet regarding a new BlueTooth trick called "BlueSnarfing" where data (mainly contact lists) can be stolen from an unsuspecting Bluetooth Enabled device. All this talk of Bluejacking and Toothing got me curious to dig a little further. Nokia admits multiple Bluetooth security holes"According to Nokia, if an attacker had physical access to the 7650, the bluesnarf attack would not only be possible, but it would also allow the attacker's Bluetooth device to "read the data on the attacked device and also send SMS messages and browse the Web via it." The company said it had not been able to recreate this "backdoor" attack on the 6310, but would not confirm if the other models were vulnerable."
So what do you make of this? Are PPCs vulnerable? Or is this just some hype to sell some new "Bluetooth security suites" somewhere down the road?
