From an article on The Age, Wifi is to be installed in some 1500 UPS stores by SBC communications. First we hear about stadium in San Francisco and now this.... I think they're making a big push to own the Wifi hotspot business.. Good! What can Brown do for you? Wireless Internet or "Wi-FI" access points will be installed at some 1,500 United Parcel Service stores this year, service provider SBC Communications has announced.
SBC said one of the largest commercial Wi-Fi hot spot deployments would bring the wireless Internet service to UPS Store and Mail Boxes Etc. locations, which are part of the UPS retail network.
SBC said its FreedomLink service would enable customers to use laptop computers and personal digital assistants to wirelessly connect to the Internet and corporate networks at high speeds.
