You'd almost have to be living under a rock not to have heard about the pPod/pBop MP3 player for Pocket PC and how Apple placed the developer under legal pressure to stop selling it.
Well, today, Purepockets released a review of the pPod in all it's glory. "Options
The pPod/bBop offers two different skins. A white o*ne which looks just like an iPod and the same skin in black which I found hard to see. There are not too many setting options here. You can turn the 'shuffle' function o*n or off, you can turn the 'repeat' function o*n or off and you can turn the clicking sound of the controls o*n or off. I would have liked to see more configuration options here. With the many audio players out there I think they should include base and treble settings if not a full equalizer. "
What I find curious is Handango still has it up for sale for $20 - see our affiliate link for more details...
I would think if Apple had any marketing sense it would work with the developer to make the player iTUNES compatible and increase its iTUNE subscribers to where they originally projected... Apple missed their goal by 50%! However Apple is being Apple - protectionism over market acceptance. Great products, high priced and consumers question time in market.
