WOW

BK,
Do you ever sleep? You certainly seem to know pocketpc stuff! How long have you been using? I got my Outlook loaded and can't find half of my old folders like "sent mail"... now. But the ActiveSync seems to have worked because I did get some emails loaded into my iPAQ. Also, can't find my FAVORITES file altho I thought I copied it to the pda. Oh well, a few more days and I should get the rest of the details down. I will definitely have to try the ShoutCast! Have you ever heard of Spinner Radio? I have version 4.0 and use that while I am online... it reminds me of XM radio, only it's free.

I used to. :P But, I had two kids in a 11 month timeframe (they're called Irish twins ) and I haven't slept for more than 6 hours in a row since. ...... (Wait..this isn't funny.)

That's hard to say...I got my first PPC in 1997 at the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference in Boulder Colorado...Man, what a great conference...they were selling the cassiopeia e-11 for $100 (??) to get us developers to write apps for it......I think it was nicknamed "the brick"... Detailed view of the E-10

It's been what.....7 years...and I still don't have it down....I think that's what I love most about it...it's like I find something new everytime I use my PPC.. :P

Oldies but goodies

Hi BK,
I remember the Cassieopia. Kewl name. Speaking of old hardware, I used to have a TI99A and a Commodore! I liked computers long before they became so popular.
I hope you (and your wife) get some well-deserved rest... two infants. No wonder you are awake all hours. If you ever need some baby/childrens music, check out www.pbs.org they have a 24/7 Sesame street radio for kids that looks like a colorful boombox. You can get lullabies or songs or games to play continuously.
Spinner Radio was the precursor to the Netscape Radio... about 18 months ago, when they were making the transition from Spinner, I first heard about it and D/L ver. 4.0. As I learned to use it I read forums there and folks said they liked the old Spinner better than the upgrade. So I just kept the old version since it worked well for me... and I still like it today. I get used to software and when it works well I am hesitant to "upgrade" because (1) I am a creature of habit and think that if something is not broke, then I shouldn't mess with it; and (2) previous experience has taught me that often the upgrades are less than satisfactory and often cost more. That is why I don't like having to use Outlook for my mail/PDA... I still haven't found my Favorites or Sent files! Anyway, did you try the Netscape Plus? What did you think?
I used the HP Jornada [model 545 I think] for a couple of months in 2001... I am not one to always carry a PDA in my pocket. I am lucky to remember to grab my TracFone in bad weather. But I am fascinated by this whole "wireless" boom as I have been watching Bluetooth development for years now. The urge to try my own home LAN wirelessly prompted the purchase of my new iPAQ. I am usually happy with the HP equipment, I've got an HP desktop, laptop & digital camera too. But, no, I'm not an HP rep! LOL
