Well, today was the big day. Airbourne Express came by and relieved me of my Pocket PC. It is on it's way back to HP for some service I think the official diagnosis was "SNAFU" which is a code for ... well, nevermind. It was in bad shape OS wise - losing data, remaining turned on when I turned it off, hard resetting itself, and constantly trying to login to my home domain (even without my wifi card installed).
Anyway, it is sort of a weird feeling to have to go back to writing on paper, and reading books that don't have a backlight. I am anxious to find out if I am more productive or less without my main organizational tool around. Will I miss some meetings? Will I forget to eat lunch? What will I do when I have to stand in line at the post office or sit in the waiting room at the doctors' office? These are the questions that were so easily answered when I had an iPAQ in my Pocket.
My wife had pity on me and offered to let me take her Pocket PC for this uncertain time in my life. I declined in the name of "science". Let us just see what happens when you take the Pocket PC from the addict.
Any comments?
