One little software app I've been using throughout the beta stages through today has just officially been released on Handango. It is called Start PI. What it does is runs Pocket Informant as soon as you soft reset so that it is always available and doesn't require any launch time wait. Another advantage....it's FREE! So if you want quick access to Pocket Informant, this is a good way to get going.
Any Comments from other Start PI users?
Oh wow! thnx for that Brad. I never knew this existed. But its nothing difficult to do though just copy paste the short cut of PI to Startup folder and only thing you have to do is a minimize after the reset. That was my way out of this "problem". But I think from now on, I am on to this.

True, but StartPI minimises it automatically. No big deal I know, but then it's no big app, and has no big (in fact no) price.
That said, I find PI so quick tp launch now in it's latest version and with a 400 MHz PXA255, that I stopped using start PI some time ago.
Plus, there are things coming for PI 5.0 that will make it even quicker

Mark,
There is a weird issue that occurs when I take StartPI off my PPC, I keep shutting down PI When StartPI is loaded, I don't ?!?! They aren't related by any stretch, just weird huh?

Careful...That's awfully close to violating your Beta NDA there...

I'm not sure what you mean exactly - do you mean that a tap on the cross closes PI when there is no StartPI, but just minimizes it when there is? If that's it, then there is an option in PI ("Smart Minimize Action" under "General") that can be set to close PI on a tap on the cross.
However, AFAIK, Start PI does not affect that setting one way or the other. In fact I can't see how it could, as Start PI has no uninstaller, so it's got no way of adjusting any setting when you remove it.

Not really - Alex has already mentioned it in public, but I'm not going to tell you where!!!
Mark,
My closing down of PI is NOT a fixable issue. It's a personal problem
What I was saying is I close all the way out of PI more often if StartPI isn't installed than if it is installed - don't ask me why!
P.S. We could use more Beta NDA violations around here

Aha, gotcha! Do you use any sort of "cross replacement"? I use Pocket Plus, and that lets you true close all tasks using the cross, except for those you set up as exceptions. That way you can minimise PI, but close all others, with exactly the same action for all (tap on the cross).
Icbar lets you do the same.

I'm sure you could, but I value my place on the team! Also, he's got a Texas Chief of Police on the group, so aint no way I'm arguing with Alex, ever!
