For those of us who have iPAQ 22xx, you may have noticed the rubber grips on the side can to slide off in your pocket leaving you with what appears to be just the shell of your Pocket PC. These grips are sort of a challenge to reattach and once they've slid off once, they tend to slide off more easily as time goes on! I find myself habitually, several times a day, pushing down on them to make sure they stay in place.
I found you could call HP and order a replacement kit if your grips are hopelessly destroyed. However, while browsing for a solution, I saw many people are discussing the possibility of making fancy wooden grip replacements - using cherry wood, walnut and/or maple I don't want to link to what I've found because I'm not sure if it's just talk or if something is really in the works. But wouldn't some polished cherry grips be the bomb??
And while we are on the subject of the 2200, what ever happened to the plans for a flip top cover? There are two holes in the back of a 2200 that allow for installation of a flip cover, but as of yet, I haven't heard of one being released. :? Hey, I know the easy part was to make the 2200 itself, it's the flip cover that's the hard part - but how long are we going to have to wait?
