HP Warns iPAQ 2200s Can Get White Screen After Reset

iPAQ 2200 owners will want to take note of this. If you have a 4 digit password set on your Pocket PC, a soft reset will result in a white screen or white screen with owner information mid way through the reset cycle.
If this happens, they are recommending patience because the Pocket PC is still booting. Simply waiting 10 seconds after the white screen appears and you'll get your password prompt. Another reset and "you will be stuck in a Normal Reset loop as the screen will again turn white 1/2 way through loading."

This is strange that most of the pocket pc sites are posting this. I read this customer advisory from HP the day the 2200 was released. HP must have re-released the advisory?

It's possible, however it never made it this way before Aug 20.

Hey Brad,
Heard anything about a fix for the alarm problems on the 2215 yet?
I can't believe it's taking so long for this fix.

Well, my fix is to install the update to iPAQ backup (www.spritesoftware.com) and to uninstall Journal Bar.
Oh, and I have to remember to turn off MS reader if it is running.
Gee...I sometimes feel like I need another PDA to manage my Pocket PC. :P

It took me a little while to find but this is what I posted on another site back on the 1st of July (info from HP USA). I notice now that all these have August 20 as the date - I wonder why?
------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone that has bought a 2200 the last couple of days should go to HP to download a ton of customer advisories.
-screen may turn solid white after normal reset
-may require a Normal Reset to power-on the device
-may incorrectly display notification LED
-Pressing application button on iPAQ Pocket PC h2200 Series may not launch the program
-Inactive Bluetooth connection will be terminated on the iPAQ Pocket PC h2200 Series
-Help file missing for Bluetooth Personal Network Server on iPAQ Pocket PC h2200 Series
HP seem to be blaming Microsoft, in these advisories, for most of the problems, I think it really is HP's for not testing properly- the 2200 has just been released, what do you think ?

Well, after seeing the WM2003 software operating nearly flawlessly on other units, it's hard to say that Microsoft is the sole source of problem here. Especially items like: "-Help file missing for Bluetooth Personal Network Server on iPAQ Pocket PC h2200 Series "
