There's an article over at Yahoo News by a guy who's come back to PDA's after years of absence - by his own admission he's been a bit of a Ludite - having found handhelds too limited for his uses "back then" he now finds himself drawn to the power of the newer machines. I don't agree with some of his conclusions, but it does help to illustrate just how far things have come in a relatively short time.

Like many people I really do consider my Pocket PC to be far more than just an organizer. In fact I deliberately chose one (a Jornada 548 at the time) over a laptop, figuring I could do everything that I might want to do outside the office on one of these, and save the big stuff for the desktop when I got back!
Well I could have been proved wrong - I knew very little about handhelds of any kind then - but in fact I've been less and less inclined to go the laptop route as time has gone on.
So, lets hear what you use yours for. Is it just an organizer? Is it a mobile office? How about a multimedia entertainment centre or a gaming demon? Yahoo News
