I have heard people rave about this product. and i have even seen it on a PPC. it is cool! But before i sink any money into it. i want to know.
there is no mention on the webpage that there is a desktop version that comes with the program. is there?
it seems like a lot of troble to transfer everyting to my PPC just to read it.
i spend more time in front of my computer, and would rather read there at times.
I don´t think there is a desktop version available. One alternative is "AceReader" - a learning program from Stepware (http://www.stepware.com/download.html) that also does the Rapid Serial Visualisation (it can get up to 2000 wpm). I used when I was a kid - really helped me learn to read quickly.
What I like about Speed Reader is 1) I can take it with me anywhere & 2) the "colorbar" is great for knowing where you are in a sentence (I have not seen the colorbar any other app - desktop or PDA).
