New Streaming Navigation Patent Claims ´Big Data´

If I am not listening to my XM Radio, I´ve most likely got some radio streaming via my Pocket PC. However, there are some major problems with radio over the Pocket PC. Frequent fadeouts, lack of support, customized web players that aren´t compatible are just three problems I deal with daily in my quest for mobile music.

Misic Dish Magazine has an article that may give us some hope. According to them, the company Survol Interactive Technologies has patented a new technology that claims "big data for little devices" by improving subscriber ease-of-use.

"Patent #6,496,842 enables the streaming of information menus continuously across the screen of Java, Pocket PC and Palm wireless phones and devices, says the company, continuing, "Wireless data streams to the user´s device in advance of navigation to create an experience that is faster and easier than today´s cumbersome ´click-and-wait´ wireless browsers."
