MovileVillage has a strory about a new software package by BVRP Software called PhoneTools. It is an app that allows users to send and receive voice calls from their laptop or Pocket PC by clicking the icon representing their cell phone or GPRS Card.
"In addition to allowing users to send and receive voice calls, Mobile PhoneTools enables PC users to send faxes, SMS messages, e-mail with attachments. Features include priority management, deferred send, and mail check. Users can also synchronize PC and cellular phone contact lists and calendars, and create and edit original ring tones downloaded from the Internet for installation on their mobile phones."
Thanks for the info Brad. Sounds interesting. 2 questions for you:
1) I´ve been told by T-Mobile that the Novatel wireless card that I currently use with my iPAQ H3835 can only send and receive data, not voice. Is this PhoneTools software designed to work with this type of card?
2) If i had the PocketPC, the PhoneTools software and a wireless card that would work with it, would I still need a cell phone to make the call or not?
Thanks for your help.
