"At Pocket PC Summit 2002, PrinterOn Corporation, a Web services company specializing in wireless and remote Internet printing, announced the launch of PocketWhere™ for Pocket PC, the latest enhancement to PrinterOn´s award-winning suite of handheld productivity solutions. PocketWhere enables individual and enterprise Pocket PC users to print and fax documents, Web pages, emails and attachments directly from a Pocket PC to any networked printer or fax machine.
The Pocket PC version of PocketWhere provides a step-by-step graphical user interface that can be used without training. To simplify Pocket PC printing and faxing tasks, users simply select a printer from PrinterOn´s searchable directory, or enter a fax number to output documents and attachments in over 100 file formats.
"This furthers our penetration into the handheld device marketplace," said Steve Spicer, CEO and president of PrinterOn Corporation. "PrinterOn is committed to removing the roadblocks to printing experienced by mobile professionals every day, regardless of the mobile device they choose: laptop, Palm OS, BlackBerry, and now Pocket PC."
The integrated Pocket PC drop down menus use standard desktop print controls such as number of copies. Additional features of PocketWhere for Pocket PC include the ability to search for printers in real-time, the ability to access and print from all mail folders and email boxes on the device (POP3, ActiveSync and IMAP), the ability to print or fax all Web Favorites pages, and the ability to access and print any file on the Pocket PC and its storage card.
Enterprises and service providers can use PocketWhere to expand their service offering and make their printers securely accessible to employees, customers and partners.
An enterprise solution, for companies that prefer to host their own wireless services, and a Web-hosted solution by PrinterOn are available. PrinterOn Wireless is PrinterOn´s hosted Envoy service for wireless viewing, faxing, and printing for PrinterOn members. PocketWhere for Pocket PC supports all the PrinterOn Wireless features, and maintains a list of frequently used printers for convenience.
