On the surface, English writer Rosemary Kingsland's memoir, The Secret Life of a Schoolgirl, positively defines the word "salacious."As a 14-year-old schoolgirl living outside London, Kingsland writes, she and Richard Burton (news), 29 years old and married, had an extended and torrid love affair. At first, Burton thinks she is 17, but even when he discovers her real age, the Welsh actor continues the relationship, specifically asking that she wear her schoolgirl uniform. (Related item: Read an excerpt from Schoolgirl)"You do realize, don't you, this is every man's fantasy?" Burton tells her. Unless you've read this exquisitely written book, you might think you want to shriek, "Call the vice squad!"
