Walt Disney Co. is in early talks with several wireless telephone companies over plans to offer cell phones under the entertainment company’s various brand names, including ESPN, The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.California-based Disney has not signed a deal with any wireless companies or handset makers, but its interest in expanding into the wireless business is strong, the report said, citing people familiar with the situation. New technology that could let users sent video images and sound clips through their wireless phones has particularly piqued Disney’s interest, The Wall Street Journal said.
