Small enough to hide in a drawer indefinitely, an old cellphone seems a relatively harmless byproduct of an industry that is constantly upgrading with the latest technology and gadgets.Throwing it in the trash would only serve to introduce metals and plastics to the local landfill, but letting it collect dust at home isn't doing anyone any good either. Why not recycle? While the cellphone is hardly blue box material, there are a number of organizations across Canada that will take your old phone and forward it to someone who needs it. At the very least, they'll dispose of it in an environmentally sensitive manner.
