The 35-year-old Belville man arrested in connection with the Absa Internet banking scam has been charged with 10 counts of fraud and theft. The suspect was arrested earlier this week at a Guesthouse in Richworth, where he worked and lived. The crimes occurred between May 12 and July 18.Ten Absa Internet banking clients were defrauded of R500 000 during this period. The hacker or hackers sent junk mail to their victims. When the victims open their e-mail, spy-software was down loaded into their computers. The spy- software recorded all the victims' details, including their passwords.
