A little bird over at ZDNet got an advanced preview of Microsoft's plans at the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association conference in New Orleans to announce that they will add another wireless device maker to their list of Pocket PC Phones. Research In Motion, a Waterloo, Ontario based company will develop smart phones based on Microsoft's software.
Also, Microsoft plans to announce that Sprint PCS will sell two camera phones that will use the smart phone software.
"Microsoft, Symbian and PalmSource are battling over what operating system handset makers use to build new generations of cell phones that combine the features of a personal digital assistant and a cell phone. For now, it's a very young market with about 2 million devices in circulation. By comparison, there were 400 million traditional cell phones sold last year."
