If you are a movie buff like me, you might want to check out this story in the DailyNews.com business section. It is a short history about TuneIn Entertainment's Chairman Darrell Griffin and how he came up with an idea for Pocket PC films. Apparently, he was nervous about flying on an airplane and a buddy hooked him up with some movies on his Pocket PC to help pass the time. By turning lemons into lemonade, he was able to create the company Pocket PC Films.
"Consumers can buy a Pocket PC movie on CD-ROM at a retail store or online. It takes about 10 minutes to download a two-hour film as the CD-ROM is played in the host computer attached to the PDA.
Retail distribution of the films received a major boost this month when the CompUSA chain began selling them at its 224 locations in the United States. Discussions with other chains are under way. They are also sold through Amazon.com and at Fry's Electronics stores."
