If you are a Pocket PC convert over from Palm, you are most likely a Graffiti expert. Graffiti is one of the two default text-entry methods that comes pre-loaded on Palm Pilots. According to Australian IT PALM is abandoning this text entry method due to a patent dispute with Xerox. They will instead be incorporating a package by software maker CIC called "Jot" that will be named Graffiti 2.
"Xerox brought a patent infringement suit against Palm in 1997, which found in favour of Xerox. Palm's appeal against the decision is yet to be ruled on, but a Palm spokeswoman confirmed the legal wrangling "prompted" the company to look at alternative handwriting recognition software. "
Slashdot has a discussion brewing about this matter, where some people feel that when Palm starts changing their OS, that more people will move to Pocket PC. What do you think?
