At the CES yesterday, Socket Communications Announced they will be marketing a new WiFi card that utilizes SyChip's Secure Digital Design. What does this mean to you? You can own the Smallest Industry WiFi card on the block.
"SyChip, Inc., the leader in Radio Frequency Integration Circuits (RFIC) and Chip Scale Modules (CSM) for the wireless Internet appliance market, today announced that Socket Communications (NASDAQ: SCKT, PSE: SOK), the Mobile Connection™ Company, will incorporate SyChip’s WLAN6060SDIO card design into its future WLAN Secure Digital Input Output (SDIO) connectivity product for Windows Powered Pocket PCs. The SyChip design is the industry’s first WLAN card to be based on the SDIO standard and is currently undergoing testing by major handheld manufacturers. Socket will provide customers with a connectivity product that combines SyChip’s low-power WLAN SD card with Socket’s Mobile WLAN Tools software, creating a solution that is easy to install and use, as well as being dependable and secure with Socket ‘s recently announced support for the 802.1x standard."
Personally, I can't wait to take one of these babies for a test ride.
