London, UK – 9 December 2002 - Blueprint, a developer of mobile data applications, today released a portable remote network management tool for IT administrators. Blueprint Network Tools Version 1.0, or ‘NetTools’, provides network support staff control of their networks and servers from a Pocket PC or other form of web-enabled wireless handheld device, including a mobile phone.
NetTools comprises two software elements – one of which resides on the handheld device, the other on a server. The client device must be fitted with a wireless network card to enable wireless Virtual Private Network (VPN) or communication with the local area network (LAN) using General Packet Radio Services (GPRS), Global System for Mobile (GSM) networks or a standard dial-up connection.
