Got Bluetooth? If you are like me and have fiddled, or worked with....ok obsessed about bluetooth networking, you may have tried the unenvyable experiment of streaming audio over a BT connection. Dissapointing might be one word to express the quality of an audio stream over this type of slow-bandwidth connection.
ExtremeTech, however is offering us some hope through this article that talks about about a new Bluetooth-based audio cable replacement that claims CD quality Audio over a bluetooth connection.
"Cable Replacement Technologies, Inc is working with PoGo! Products -- developer of the first hard-drive based MP3 player the PJB-100 -- to bring the technology to market. Pogo plans on releasing the receiver within 10 weeks, and expects it to hook up to a Bluetooth-enabled Pocket PC. The expected price is about $50.
The company claims that the decoder delivers a 94dB signal to noise ratio, and an acoustic range from 20Hz to 20kHz. The encoder delivers 44.1kHz sampling at a max bitrate of 192kbps, a signal to noise ratio of 85dB and a 96dB dynamic range with the same acoustic range as the transmitter. "
