You remember the great-grandfather of all PDAs don't you? The Apple Newton?
Wired news has a fascinating article about how even though the Newton handheld was discontinued in 1998, there is a vast underground of Newton enthusiasts, who are continuing to develop hardware and software solutions for this handheld. Believe it or not, this old device can connect to Macs, PCs, Unix boxes and network via wireless WiFi and gprs cell-phones - also has some web browsing and mp3 streaming abilities.
Do you think the PocketPC will have the same loyalty and dedication 4 years after it has been put away? Or in the case of Newton, is Love indeed blind?
