I got some information just today about a new word processor being produced for PocketPC. If you find that Pocket Word just isn't cutting it, maybe TextMaker will be for you. This is being developed by German software developer
SoftMaker, who says this will not be limited to the functions of PocketWord, instead, it will feature a "Lossless roundtrip conversion of word .doc files."
I tried accessing Their Site , but it has been down. Perhaps just a fluke.
But if you are talking about a more functional version of Word, I say "bring it on!!!"----------------------------------------------------------------------

SoftMaker announced today a new public beta version of TextMaker for
Windows CE, its new full-featured word processor for Windows CE.
Geared towards all Handheld PCs (HPC, HPC Pro, HPC 2000), this
program is the most comprehensive word processor ever developed for
Windows CE. Spell-checking? Graphics? Footnotes? No problem. Tables?
Sophisticated character and paragraph formatting? Drop caps, text
frames, master pages, integrated glossary? At your fingertips.
The Windows CE version has almost all of the features of the
desktop version of TextMaker. In fact, the feature set compares
favorably with Microsoft Word for Windows, not the limited
feature set of Pocket Word.
Lossless roundtrip conversion of Word .doc files is one of the
main aims of the developers. The current beta already includes
import of Microsoft Word .doc files, and export to Rich Text
Format, Pocket Word, ASCII, Unicode, and HTML.
Beta version 3a of TextMaker for Handheld PCs is available as
a free download at www.softmaker.de/anywhere
The shipping date for the release version of TextMaker for Handheld
PCs has been set for August 2002. Pricing is expected to be in
the US$70 range.
SoftMaker also announced today that it will port TextMaker to
Pocket PCs. After receiving numerous customer requests, SoftMaker
decided to start the porting effort. A beta version of TextMaker
for Pocket PCs is expected in the coming weeks.
TextMaker is the first component of SoftMaker Office anywhere, a
mobile office suite for Windows, Windows CE, and Linux which will
comprise a Microsoft Word-compatible word processor, a Microsoft
Excel-compatible spreadsheet, an end-user database package, and
a PIM/groupware combo. SoftMaker Office anywhere will be
available in "regular" desktop and mobile editions, but also as
an ASP or client/server edition running over the Internet.
The components of SoftMaker Office anywhere will be released
step-by-step in 2002 and 2003.
