Brad Smith over at WirelessWeek.com has written a small history lesson on the creation and development of the iPAQ PocketPC. If you think the iPAQ idea was generated in a corporate boardroom, you may have the wrong idea.
"Credit for the iPAQ goes to a group of industrial designers led by Randall Martin...Martin says he decided to get away from the company's headquarters in Houston to free the team from their daily tasks and give them a chance to break away from what they had been working on. Martin, who had spent a lot of time in Colorado fly fishing, saw an opportunity to mix business with a little fishing pleasure and settled on the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs as the place to work on the initial concepts."
