Are you tired of missing important phone calls because you can't get to the phone in time? Do you want your custom ringtone to play all the way through when someone calls so people around you know you paid good cash for that song? We got great news. Although this trick has only been confirmed for AT&T Wireless / Cingular customers, it works and it works well. Tell us if it works for you! (Especially you CDMA folks) This is what you have to do:
-Get into the phone application and dial *#62# and hit talk. This will give you the voicemail number your phone uses (i.e. +1206XXXXXXX). Write this down.
-Then dial *61*1XXXXXXXXXX**tt# where the Xs is your 10 digit voicemail number and tt is the time (in seconds) you want it to ring before voicemail picks up. Hit talk.
-Test it out by calling your phone from another phone.
I just tried this on my HP iPAQ hw6515 it and worked like a charm!
Let us know if it works! UPDATE: Looks like it only works for GSM users (darn)... if you know of a way to change the the duration for CDMA phones, let us know!
I like using CALLWAVE too. Even when I pick up the line too late, it gives me the option to interrupt the message and take the call. It sends my messages to my email account as a wav file, and if I'm at my computer it will allow me to route the call to a different phone (work or home phone).
think im lost ....im good up to the whole lowercase "tt" stuff.. i have an 8125 and i know cingular voicemail picks up after 20 seconds and i would love to extend that to 30 maybe 45 seconds. i get confused after i dial the number i write down, then the "**tt#" am i missing how to imput the time correctly? what does the asteriks mean , the lowercase tt and the pound#????
