Live shots: Apple's Video iPod- Meanwhile I am in sync hell

Live shots of Apple’s Video iPod

First the good news. Sync online thinks the new Apple Video iPod is the bomb. "If you haven’t found an excuse to dump you existing iPod, think fast. The new Video iPod is thinner, larger capacity, larger screen and yes it also plays videos. I had an opportunity to play with the new Video iPod at Digital Life – it’s awesome!" They've posted a number of pictures of it on their site.
The bad news: My iPod 4G only syncs on what seems to be Tuesdays and Fridays and an occasional Sunday as long as Jupiter's moon is in alignment with Saturn. I really don't get how the king of all portable music players hates me so much. I can use USB or Firewire with this goofy iPod and both will fail. The next day it will sync just fine.
I know I'm only MCSE and Cisco CCNA certified, but what type of training and certifications do I need in order to sync this stupid thing?!?!
I am not the only one with this problem either. iPod lounge has a thread a year or so old with hundreds of posts with people having the same problem.
