CE Professional 2.0 by Cubesoft

Being promoted as one of the "most advanced programs ever created for the Pocket PC" CE Professional, 2.0 offers what looks to be an email client that offers more than just your traditional Inbox program provides. It retails for $19.95 but they have an introductory special of $9.95
Features:
• Voice E-Mail
• E-Mail
• Compose E-Mail
• Appointments
• Tasks
• Device Shutdown
• Tray ICON
• Address Book
So are they right? Is CE Professional one of the most powerful programs ever created for Pocket PC? Don't forget your silence is consent!!

Well, I thought that this looks interesting so I checked it out. There was no trial so I bought it.... Not realy a special program
It needs Visual Basic to run so it eats up your memory
You can't acces your appointments or task from the Outlook like screen. It is only to make new ones (which can also be done from the icon on the Today screen). But I found Pocket Informant much, much faster for new appointments.
Then there is the email. I can see all my email boxes but I can't read the mail. Some bug there...
Last thing there is the voice mail. Which is nice but I can't get it to work.
So I can safely say that I wasted another 12 Euro (incl. taxes) for nothing

Really?!?! When I first saw the screen shot above I thought about how long before I turn paperclip guy off. If you cant even get email to work you need to get a refund.

Sorry Wouter,
I hate it when I link to a piece of software that doesn't turn out well. I haven't tried it. I just spotted it at Handango this morning and like you, thought it looked interesting.

No harm done, it is only money I like to try out software. Especially PIM software and email software. Maybe I ask for a refund. But it would be nice if the voice mail could work.
I think all the problems have to do with Visual Basic. At first I used the VB version already on my MDA II. Then I had even more problems. During install there is also a cab file put in to your My Documents folder with a newer version of VB. Even with this version I still have problems.
Yes I can see the Paperclip animation (and some others) but I guess I'm still missing some other buttons. I experienced the same with some other programs running on VB or NetCF.

ok- I have on idea based on what you wrote.
you say you have same prob with both VB and .Net Both of these scenarios point to some ROM corruption. It may be worthwhile to go ahead and hard reset and install the problem children first.

Well I played with it some more and I now understand that the voice mail is working as supposed (more or less :? ). I can make a voice recording using CE Professional. But then it was not very clear. I found out that I then had to go to the "Outlook likish Todayscreen" and compose a message there. Then this recording would be ready to be attached to the message. Too bad only you need AS or a wireless connection (I have a Phone Edition so why doesn't it work??? ) to sent the message.
I think I take it of my MDA II and use my precious memory for some other programs. (I don't feel like a hard reset to test your suggestion, Brad. Sorry!)
At least the sun is still shining! 8-) 8-)
