The Gadgeteer Reviews Brando's Airwave FM Transmitter

Judie Hughes over at the gadgeteer has put together a review of Brando's here wave FM transmitter. What this could do is allow you to play music from your Pocket PC and have it transmitted over your car or home stereo radio. I have never found one of these transmitters that work properly so I am always interested to read reviews about new or unique ones that hit the market. So is the Brando version any better? Read the review to find out.

About a year ago I purchased a digital FM Stereo Transmitter from HobbyTron.com and have been very pleased with its performance. http://www.hobbytron.com/digital-fm-transmitter.html
I just checked and they cost $69.95. There is a rheostat you can turn up to increase the output. With this transmitter, I am able to listen to Dell MusicMatch (or anything that has a headphone or RCA stereo output) on every stereo throughout the house or back patio... which is great for parties. It is normally powered by a normal wall outlet... however, with 2 AA batteries you can take it portable.

Hi Kruse52 and welcome to Pocket PC Addict
What's the sound quality of the hobbytron? the sound boost feature sounds like it might be the difference the others typically lack.

About halfway across the house on a home stereo, the quality is excellent... digital stereo. On the other side of the house on a home stereo I need to use "mono" in order to retain a good sound. Fewer walls makes a big difference. I haven't used it in a car, but I can only imagine that it would be excellent given the short range and nothing to attenuate the signal.
