This little chip by QINETIQ might come in handy for eventually tracking little devices such as our Pocket PCs. Considering hundreds of thousands of PDAs, laptops and cell phones are left on subways, in taxis and on airplanes every year, when it be great to have a tracking device to recover them? 'The device offers both indoor and outer GPS tracking and uses Qinetiq's Q20 high sensitivity GPS technology. Wireless comms and the OS are proved by Global Point.
The device, said the firm, is likely to be used to improve the security of freight, with the background being new legislation required by the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code.'
I can't find anywhere that has a picture where you can really get a feel for it's size, but this looks great. I'd love a gps built into my PPC without a big antenna sticking out the top.
